Federal Structure of a country allows, to a larger extent, its comprising States to exploit its strengths but at the same time exposes it to its weaknesses. However, in order that a Federal nation remains integrated it is essential that there is harmony in growth, social security, infrastructure developments, etc. across all the States of a Federation.
Statistical analysis, State-wise, of various parameters such as those related to Human resources, Natural resources, Development activities and Good Governance provides insight to the planners and policy makers, at both Union & State levels. The analysis provides the necessary inputs for formulating polices and steps needed to ensure harmonious growth of the nation, as a whole, and to arrest any skewed growth across the States.
