Green energy awards for Indians

Two Indian companies have been awarded this year’s Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy, claimed to be Britain most prestigious green energy awards.
The awards were launched in 2001 to encourage greater use of local clean energy to address climate change and alleviate poverty.
Congratulating the winners, Prince Charles, Patron of Ashden Awards, said: “The Ashden Awards show what it is possible to do now in saving resources and cutting emissions. They remind us how, as individuals, we can make a huge difference to the world in which we live. In a nutshell, they remind us that acting locally is, in fact, acting globally.”
The winning Indian companies are Abellon Clean Energy Ltd. and Husk Power Systems.
